When Staffordshire Police were first placed in ‘Special Measures’ in July 2022, they were taking nearly 25 seconds to answer 999 calls, and their offender conviction rate was just 10%. These and other elements of their service needed significant improvement. In June 2024, following in-depth monitoring and continuous assessment, his Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary, Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) announced that the force had been removed from the enhanced monitoring process called ‘Engage’, following ‘significant and sustained improvement’ in their services.

It was a major achievement, and one to be celebrated. None of this improvement work had been done in isolation and everyone in the force, officers and staff, had played their part in helping Staffordshire Police begin its journey back to being outstanding once again. WDAD were asked to create a film that the Chief Constable could play at numerous employee workshops to introduce the events. He wanted something to make an impact, and hopefully our animated video achieved that.
