Best digested over a generous glass of mulled wine, here’s a slice of what’s been happening over the last few months. You could call the whole period ‘The Big Freeze’. It’s been tough, particularly for our Cabinet Office and other Central Government clients including the Audit Commission, UK Film Council and the OFT. Our thoughts and thanks go to all our contacts in those organisations.
Ever-resourceful and undeterred, we’ve partnered with Jobs Go Public, the web-based talent management technologists, to bring an exciting new redeployment offer to market. We remain financially sound and, like everyone else in this industry, await economic good tidings, even though the CSR has yet to bite.
Reassuringly reachable over the festive season, we’re all yours until lunchtime Christmas Eve, then skeleton-staffed on the 29th and 30th with early shutters on the 31st. It’s business as usual from Tuesday 4th January. Please let us know as soon as possible if you think you’ll need us over Christmas Week.
Rather than post traditional Christmas cards, we’re saving the forests and donating to charity, this time to St Luke's Hospice. On behalf of everyone here at WDAD, I’d like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you all for your business over the past year.
Now, where’s that mulled wine?
Kind regards,
Mike Heal, Managing Director
We’ve helped clients onto the podium a few times this year, and picked up the much-coveted Agency Of The Year award at the GRAMIAs. Awards are nice, we like them (especially the dinners), but they’re just a by-product of our focus on getting the right bums on the right seats, the more creatively the better. The following are the client nominations and gongs we’ve picked up in the last few months:
Best recruitment website: traguscareers.co.uk
Best recruitment campaign: Whitbread
Best recruitment campaign: Tragus
Best campaign: GIFT Fundraising - FINALIST
Best website: Audit Commission - FINALIST
Things are good on the new business front - Virgin Active, J P Kenny, Fortune Hill, Arbuthnot Latham, Enyo Law LLP, Tag Campaigns and Plan International have all been putting work through us in the last 6 months. We’ve also been working very closely on some exciting projects with global organisations Harvey Nash and Northgate Arinso.
We’ve been billing more on new media than traditional media, with our recent website awards and nominations a nice end result. J P Kenny, Costa Coffee, Alderwick Consulting, CfBT Education Trust and the Wellbeck Project recruitment sites, as well as Enyo Law’s corporate site are just some of the builds we’ve conceived and launched in the past few months. Look out for some great video content as well.
We’ve developed a redeployment tool in partnership with Jobs Go Public that takes their state of the art technology solution that’s in place with the likes of the London Borough of Islington, and adds an element of direct customer contact to the service. Watch this space!
